Housing sales across Turkey increased by 76.1% in October compared to the same month of the previous year, reaching 165.138. The cities with the highest number of house sales were Istanbul with 24.812, Ankara with 15.257, and Izmir with 8.658, while the cities with the lowest number of house sales were Hakkari with 76, Bayburt with 97, and Ardahan with 112, respectively.
Housing sales increased by 11.9% in the January-October period
Housing sales increased by 11.9% in the January-October period compared to the same period of the previous year, reaching 1.112.374.
Mortgaged house sales amounted to 21.095
Mortgaged house sales across Turkey increased by 278.2% in October compared to the same month of the previous year, reaching 21.095. The share of mortgaged sales in total house sales was 12.8%. Mortgaged house sales in the January-October period decreased by 31.9% compared to the same period of the previous year, reaching 113.405.
In October, 5.167 and in the January-October period, 26.869 mortgaged house sales were realized as first hand.
As a result of other sales types, 144.043 houses changed hands
Other house sales across Turkey increased by 63.3% in October compared to the same month of the previous year, reaching 144.043. The share of other sales in total house sales was 87.2%. Other house sales in the January-October period increased by 20.7% compared to the same period of the previous year, reaching 998.969.
The number of first-hand house sales was 57 thousand 679
The number of first-hand house sales across Turkey increased by 97.3% in October compared to the same month of the previous year, reaching 57 thousand 679. The share of first-hand house sales in total house sales was 34.9%. In the January-October period, first-hand house sales increased by 20.4% compared to the same period of the previous year, reaching 358 thousand 558.
107 thousand 459 houses changed hands in second-hand house sales
The number of second-hand house sales across Turkey increased by 66.5% in October compared to the same month of the previous year, reaching 107 thousand 459. The share of second-hand house sales in total house sales was 65.1%. In the January-October period, second-hand house sales increased by 8.3% compared to the same period of the previous year, reaching 753 thousand 816.
2.122 houses were sold to foreigners in October
House sales to foreigners decreased by 16.3% in October compared to the same month of the previous year, reaching 2.122. The share of house sales to foreigners in total house sales in October was 1.3%. The cities with the highest number of house sales to foreigners were Antalya with 750, Istanbul with 724 and Mersin with 148, respectively.
Housing sales to foreigners decreased by 37.2% in the January-October period compared to the same period of the previous year, reaching 19.212.
The highest number of housing sales by nationality were made to citizens of the Russian Federation
In October, the highest number of housing sales by nationality were made to citizens of the Russian Federation with 373, Iran with 172 and Ukraine with 136.
