Housing sales across Turkey increased by 63.6% in November compared to the same month of the previous year, reaching 153.014. The cities with the highest number of house sales were Istanbul with 26.320, Ankara with 14.916, and Izmir with 8.583, while the cities with the lowest number of house sales were Bayburt with 89, Tunceli with 99, and Hakkari with 121, respectively.
Housing sales increased
by 16.4% in the January-November period compared to the same period of the previous year, reaching 1 million 265 thousand 388.
Mortgaged house sales amounted to 21.804
Mortgaged house sales across Turkey increased by 315.7% in November compared to the same month of the previous year, reaching 21.804. The share of mortgaged sales in total house sales was 14.2%. Mortgaged house sales in the January-November period decreased by 21.3% compared to the same period of the previous year, reaching 135.209.
In November, 5.213 and in the January-November period, 32.082 mortgaged house sales were first hand. 131.210
houses changed hands as a result of other sales types
Other house sales across Turkey increased by 48.6% in November compared to the same month of the previous year, reaching 131.210. The share of other sales in total house sales was 85.8%. Other housing sales in the January-November period increased by 23.4% compared to the same period of the previous year, reaching 1.130.179.
The number of first-hand house sales was 49 thousand 274
The number of first-hand house sales across Turkey increased by 61.7% in November compared to the same month of the previous year, reaching 49 thousand 274. The share of first-hand house sales in total house sales was 32.2%. In the January-November period, first-hand house sales increased by 24.2% compared to the same period of the previous year, reaching 407 thousand 832.
103 thousand 740 houses changed hands in second-hand house sales
The number of second-hand house sales across Turkey increased by 64.6% in November compared to the same month of the previous year, reaching 103 thousand 740. The share of second-hand house sales in total house sales was 67.8%. In the January-November period, second-hand house sales increased by 13.0% compared to the same period of the previous year, reaching 857 thousand 556.
2.151 houses were sold to foreigners in November
House sales to foreigners decreased by 8.2% in November compared to the same month of the previous year, reaching 2,151. The share of house sales to foreigners in total house sales in November was 1.4%. The cities with the highest number of house sales to foreigners were Istanbul with 780, Antalya with 752 and Mersin with 191, respectively.
Housing sales to foreigners decreased by 35.1% in the January-November period compared to the same period of the previous year, reaching 21.363.
The highest number of housing sales by nationality were made to citizens of the Russian Federation
In November, the highest number of housing sales by nationality were made to citizens of the Russian Federation with 421, Iran with 200 and Ukraine with 160.
