The cities with the highest number of house sales were Istanbul with 239 thousand 213, Ankara with 134 thousand 46, and Izmir with 80 thousand 398, while the cities with the lowest number were Ardahan with 755, Hakkari with 958, and Bayburt with 999, respectively.

Mortgaged house sales in 2024 decreased by 10.8% compared to the previous year, reaching 158 thousand 486. The share of mortgaged sales in total house sales was 10.9% in December and 10.7% in 2024.

The number of first-hand house sales across Turkey increased by 49.5% in December compared to the same month of the previous year, reaching 76 thousand 629. First-hand house sales increased by 27.6% in 2024 compared to the previous year, reaching 484 thousand 461. The share of first-hand house sales in total house sales was 36.0% in December and 32.8% in 2024.

The number of second-hand house sales across Turkey increased by 55.7% in December compared to the same month of the previous year, reaching 136 thousand 8. Second-hand house sales increased by 17.4% in 2024 compared to the previous year, reaching 993 thousand 564.

House sales to foreigners decreased by 32.1% in 2024 compared to the previous year, reaching 23.781. The share of house sales to foreigners in total house sales in 2024 was 1.6%. The cities with the highest number of house sales to foreigners in 2024 were Istanbul with 8.416, Antalya with 8.223, and Mersin with 2.112, respectively.

In December, the highest number of housing sales were made to citizens of the Russian Federation with 438, Iranian with 239 and Ukrainian with 181, respectively.
