Housing sales across Turkey increased by 39.7% in January compared to the same month of the previous year, reaching 112.173. The cities with the highest number of house sales were Istanbul with 18.912, Ankara with 10.158, and Izmir with 6.634, while the cities with the lowest number of house sales were Ardahan with 39, Bayburt with 62, and Tunceli with 80.

Mortgaged house sales were 16.726

Mortgaged house sales in Turkey increased by 182.8% in January compared to the same month of the previous year, reaching 16,726. The share of mortgaged sales in total house sales was 14.9%. In January, 3,856 mortgaged house sales were realized as first-hand.

As a result of other types of sales, 95.447 houses changed hands

Other house sales in Turkey increased by 28.3% in January compared to the same month of the previous year, reaching 95.447. The share of other sales in total house sales was 85.1%.

The number of first-hand housing sales in Turkey increased by 29.8% in January compared to the same month of the previous year, reaching 32.785. The share of first-hand housing sales in total housing sales was 29.2%.

79.388 houses changed hands in second-hand housing sales

The number of second-hand housing sales in Turkey increased by 44.2% in January compared to the same month of the previous year, reaching 79.388. The share of second-hand housing sales in total housing sales was 70.8%.

1.547 houses were sold to foreigners in January

House sales to foreigners decreased by 24.9% in January compared to the same month of the previous year, reaching 1.547. The share of houses sold to foreigners in total house sales in January was 1.4%. The cities with the highest number of house sales to foreigners were Istanbul with 611, Antalya with 469 and Mersin with 118, respectively.

The most housing sales by nationality were made to citizens of the Russian Federation

In January, the most housing sales by nationality were made to citizens of the Russian Federation with 248, Iran with 162 and Iraq with 103.
