It has a population of 248.595 people, and its area is 239.22 square kilometers.

 

Where is Beykoz district?

Beykoz district is located on the Asian side of Istanbul, at the northern end of the Bosphorus Strait. It is one of the areas on the Black Sea. It is surrounded by the regions of Sile, Cekmekoy, Umraniye and Uskudar.

Beykoz area is one of the ancient areas that the Ottoman sultans used to visit for recreation, due to the calmness and beauty of the area.

One of the most important landmarks of Beykoz area is Beykoz Museum of Glass and Crystal. It is one of the newest museums in Istanbul. It opened in April 2021. It is located inside a historical forest. The museum includes an amazing collection of glass and crystal pieces. Also, in the area there is one of the largest zoos in Istanbul, Polonizkoy Zoo within the Natural Life Park, and Yoros Castle, which is a castle from the Roman era, located in Asian Istanbul. The castle enjoys an amazing panoramic view of the Black Sea and the Bosphorus and is surrounded by restaurants that tourists come from everywhere.

In addition to the fact that Beykoz area is a tourist area and a summer resort, it also has elegant residential neighborhoods, the most famous of which is the Acarlar neighborhood. It includes a number of public, international, and private schools that provide educational services to the residents of the district. It also includes one of the most important universities in Istanbul, which is Beykoz Istanbul University.

 

Transportation in Beykoz:

Beykoz area in Asian Istanbul is one of the areas ideally connected with the rest of Istanbul. It is connected to Beykoz with the rest of Istanbul and other cities by two highways, the northern Marmara Road that connects to the Sultan Yavuz Selim Bridge, and the E80 road that connects to the Fatih Sultan Mehmet Bridge.
